CEADA, a civil society organization dedicated to promoting social and academic mobility for Afro-descendant communities, proudly announces that three outstanding students from Colombia’s Pacific coast have been awarded scholarships to study bilingual education at Universidad ÚNICA in Bogotá. These scholarships mark a significant achievement in our mission to empower young Afro-descendant individuals through Afrocentric guidance and support.

The scholarship recipients are:
Jenifer Valery Avila Angulo (Barbacoas, Nariño): A recent graduate from the Normal Superior de Barbacoas, Jenifer, with her exceptional academic record, will pursue a degree in English-Spanish bilingualism.
Olver Starling Mina Valencia (Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca): A Esther Etelvina Aramburo School graduate, Olver will also embark on his bilingual education journey in Bogotá.
Dhan Esteban Ortiz Solis (Tumaco, Nariño): Graduating from Instituto Técnico Popular de la Costa, Dhan Esteban is set to study bilingual education with the support of this scholarship.

These students will embark on a transformative 5-year academic program, which will not only equip them with the skills needed to become future leaders in their communities but also inspire others to follow in their footsteps. We extend heartfelt congratulations to Jenifer, Olver, Dhan, their families, and schools for this incredible achievement.

We are deeply grateful to Universidad ÚNICA for offering these scholarships and to CEADA, under the leadership of John Tovar, for championing this academic mobility initiative.
